School recognition funds should be delivered to school districts on Tuesday. The legislature appropriated $134.6 million to be distributed to eligible schools. Based on a news report, schools will be getting $97.04 per full-time equivalent student, which represents the prorated amount based on the number of qualified schools. Attached to this email is a table, organized by district and school, of the 2015?16 award winners.
The awards are to be used for nonrecurring bonuses to the faculty and staff, nonrecurring expenditures for educational equipment or materials, or for temporary personnel to assist the school in maintaining or improving student performance. If the school’s staff and SAC cannot reach agreement by February 1, the awards must be equally distributed to all classroom teachers currently teaching in the school.
Section 1008.36,Florida Statutes authorizes this award and that language can be reviewed here: http://www.leg.state.fl.us/Statutes/index.cfm?App_mode=Display_Statute&Search_String=&URL=1000-1099/1008/Sections/1008.36.html
